School Sponsored Clubs at Aquinas Montessori
Aquinas Montessori School in Alexandria, Virginia offers a variety of enriching after-school clubs that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. From performing arts to STEM and literature, our extracurricular activities support the holistic development of children in grades K–6
Drama Club – Upper Elementary Musical Theater
Our Drama Club is a highlight of the year for upper elementary students (Grades 4–6). Each year, students participate in a full-scale musical theater production, such as
Mary Poppins Jr. (2025) and
Dear Edwina, Jr. (2026). Children meet after school, coached by a local professional actor. This immersive experience builds confidence, creativity, and lasting memories.
Classics Club – High Quality Literature & Discussions
The Classics Club welcomes students in Grades 3–6 to explore classic and award-winning literature. Meeting monthly after school, students engage in dynamic discussions led by a faculty guide. This club fosters a love of reading and encourages thoughtful analysis, friendship, and intellectual curiosity.
Additional Afterschool Clubs
In addition to school-sponsored clubs, Aquinas Montessori partners with reputable outside organizations to offer additional enrichment programs (fees apply). These clubs expand opportunities for children to pursue interests beyond the classroom.
LEGO Engineering Club – STEM & Creativity
Offered by Ascendly, the LEGO Engineering Club engages students in Grades K–6 in hands-on STEM challenges using LEGO bricks. Children develop problem-solving and engineering skills while having fun building imaginative structures.
Silver Knights Chess Academy – Strategic Thinking for K–6
